Still no real anwers.......

We had Seans appointment with Dr. Aminian on Friday. It went well. We got a few answers but he is still a mystery. He says that there is a definate hyper activity issue, but he does not believe that it is ADHD. Sean has the capability of completing his work alone when needed and getting the answers right more often then not. His grades are not failing. He is a smart little cookie. And he is jolly which he says is not usually a characteristic in children with ADHD. Sean was on his "worst" behavior which was good and bad. Good in that the doctor got to see what the issue was, but Bad in that I was mortified to have to admit that he was my child at that moment. He said that we will deal with the hyperactivity and still continue to meet with him in the future. We will see if when we get that under control then some of the other symptoms will become more prominent and allow us to narrow this down. He is going to put him on a medicine that is used for high blood pressure in adults, but is used to control hyper activity and impulse reactions in children. We had to get an EKG done to make sure that his heart is in good working order and could handle this. Once he gets the results of that in he will call the medicine into the pharmacy and then we will start off slow with it until we get the right dosage. We then have a follow up appointment on December 13th to see where we stand with all of this. The only other thing that was said was since there are some instances of Bi-Polar and Anxiety Disorders on his dads side of the family, As well as some Depression issues on my side of the family, then we could be seeing the beggining signs of bi-polar disorder. But we are not jumping on that band wagon because those symptoms dont usually start until they are in their preteens, and they dont diagnose that in small children. The only thing that would lead him there at this point is the overly jolly personality he had in the office that would resemble the manic point of bipolar. So we are still playing the guessing game. Fun Fun Fun!!! I will keep you posted as things progress. Hopefully he will start the meds next week and we will see some change in his behavior.

P.S.

Sean is getting baptised this coming Saturday, we are so excited. I cant believe that he is at that age already. WE MADE IT. If you want details email me and let me know.

Loves to you all!!! XOXOXOX
