Crazy Times and a Sick Kiddo......

This has been an incredibly busy week. On the 7th (the Sunday after Lexi's Party) I ended up in the ER with Sean who had been having ear pain. I was sure that he had an ear infection. The doctor told me that he had an impacted ear canal and suggested a product to help remove the wax. He said he saw no infection, but if he wasnt better to take him back to his doctor in a couple days.

By Thursday morning he was not sleeping through the night and was screaming in pain. I took him to the doctor that morning and found out that there was a severe infection on top of the impacted canal. She couldnt clean it out because he was in so much pain. She gave him an antibiotic and told me to keep trying to clean it out, even try flushing it out. So we got a flushing kit and were still using the wax remover liquid drops.

By Friday morning he was running a high fever and was miserable. Brandon had the day off so he stayed home with him. Book Fair at school (which I am in charge of again) was starting Monday so I had to stay at school and get it set up. We spent the weekend not sleeping, still not able to get the wax out and going through every two hour rotations of motrin and tylenol just to keep the pain level down.

I finally decided to take a friends advice and hold Sean down while we did an ear wax candle....... This is the BIGGEST miracle product that I have ever found in my life. I would reccomend this to anyone with children older than about 4 or 5, I would say.

He was so cute.....
He screamed during the first minute, not because he was hurt, but because he was scared. Then all of the sudden he got real quiet. I was so afraid he was holding his breath, which he has a tendency to do when he is really upset, although he hasnt done that in awhile. Then after about another 15 seconds or so he said "HEY" I said "Hey What?" and he said "This doesnt hurt..." I said "Well Duh, did you think mommy would do something to hurt you?" and he said "No, I was just scared." And then he sat completely still for the rest of it. After doing 2 of them, with a 4 hour period in between, we got two 2 1/2 inch long strips of wax out of his ear. He said he felt allot better and his ear was finally popping which was relieving pressure. He is feeling much better now.

Now its on to the busy part of the year....... BOOK FAIR!!!!
