Emotional few days......
So after talking to Seans teacher and several other friends and family we have decided that it is time to have Sean evaluated by a Behavioral Psychologist/Psychiatrist. He has had some Social Issues and Weird Quirks for years and it has recently been brought to my attention that it is possible that he has a mild case of Aspergers (Very High Functioning Autism). Looking back I cannot believe that I never thought that was a possibility. We still dont know what the results will be. He has an appointment with the Psychiatrist on October 2nd for his initial evaluation, we will see what they say. It is agreed that ADHD is more than likely out of the question for a diagnosis, he doesnt fit all the criteria for that. I guess we play the waiting game now. It will be good to have some answers. He has really been struggling the last year or so and I was really begginning to feel like a failure as a mom. It just isnt seeming to get better and we cant seem to get through to him at times. Those things that we thought he would grow out of, that were just maturity issues, seem to be evolving into bigger problems. His melt downs that used to be few and far between seem to be more and more often. He has gotten so used to things being a certain way that when there is a change of plans it rocks his world and he cannot cope with it. His outburst and inappropriate behaviors in the classroom have become more frequent and are not as easy to control. Maybe this is the answer to the unknown and maybe its not, we will soon find out. We will then know where to go to get him some help so that he can be the best that he can be. He is a brilliant boy, we just need to find a way to get past the little road blocks and let that part of him shine. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Loves to you all,
XO Jennie XO
