So I know most people spend their Christmas vacation catching up with family and playing with their kids. Not me, we are spending this time catching up on the stuff we have been slacking on. I did decided however that I still want some time to rest and relax, and I dont want to overwhelm myself; SO we have dedicated this first few days before Christmas to getting the house in order.
Today was cleaning and organizing the kids rooms. This is something we do every year before birthdays and before Christmas. We get rid of stuff they are no longer playing with (donating it to other children who will) and we reorganize the stuff that they are keeping. We usually try to change up how we are organizing it as well.
For those of you who know me I HATE it when things are not where they are suppose to be. "A place for everything and everything in its place." I am not the most emaculate person, but my house must be organized. "Organized Chaos" I like to call it.... LOL!! Anyway, that is what we did this morning. I had found these little toy bags a couple years ago at Wally World, and we have had a couple of them for some baby toys that we have down stairs; but I got a brain storm a couple days ago. I decided that since I am the queen of iron ons, and I love creating cute little labels on power point, that I would make my own labels and sew them onto the bags and then we could use those to organize the kids rooms instead of the plastic boxes that we had been using.
So here is how it worked out......
Lexis room has floor to ceiling shelves built into one side of her closet and the bags fit perfectly on the shelves. She is loving having all her stuff grouped together instead of in tons of little boxes. I am very proud of how it turned out, and it all fit in the closet now.
Seans closet doesnt have shelves YET, but we have one whole side of the closet that we could put them on, and we are working on getting some either premade or building them ourselves. Until then, he is my one that has to have everything at his fingertips anyway, so we lined his walls with his bags and he is loving every minute of his play time now.
So 2 rooms down, a million more to go.... Ugh! I also like to exagerate some.... LOL! Tomorrow is our room, our bathroom, our closet and the laundry. Then the upstairs will be done and I can tackle down stairs (on Wednesday) which is mostly done just some minor cleaning. Then we will be ALL done just intime for Christmas and a mess all over again. Gotta love it : )
We wish you ALL a Merry Christmas, enjoy this time with your families and we will see you all soon.
Love Always from OUR Family to yours XOXOXOX
